Three-time Olympic coach and Beckie Scott’s personal coach
for eight years, Torbjorn Karlsen is offering monthly training suggestions
for ambitious athletes aiming for high domestic junior or senior
level, national team level or for master level skiers who have experienced
stagnation in their racing, need inspiration or any level skier
who simply wants someone to guide them in choosing appropriate workouts.

About Torbjorn Karlsen.
Torbjorn has a unique coaching background. He received his education
from the Norwegian Sport College of Oslo Norway where he specialized
in cross-country skiing. He holds the highest coaching degree
available in Norway and over the past 25 years, has coached
skiers to more than 60 U.S. national titles. He has helped numerous
athletes to make the World Championship and Olympic teams. The
best known skier he has worked with is Canadian Beckie Scott
– 2002 Olympic Gold Medalist, 2006 Olympic silver medalist,
four World Cup victories and second place in the overall World
Cup in 2006. He has participated as a coach in three World Championships
and the 1988, 1994 and 2002 Olympics. He maintains active membership
in the Norwegian coaches club and frequently networks with former
and current National team coaches in Norway. This provides Torbjorn
with the latest in sport science and training theory. Torbjorn
also enjoys cross-country skiing on a personal level. He is
a twelve-time Masters Champion and captured five of five Master
National’s titles at the 2002 Masters nationals. |
